It is my time...

I use to be an Orowheat bread-buyer by the week...

When we lived in California there were plenty of Orowheat Outlets and I'd buy the 100% Whole Wheat bread like it was candy. It was good stuff. I felt good about myself - feeding it to the boys.

When we moved to Arizona the Orowheat bread began containing traces of peanuts and tree nuts. I inquired to the company - what's up with the nuts - and they said it was the way it had to be. With Ben and Zach having allergies I had to make a switch. I went to Costco and began buying the 100% Whole Wheat that they sold. Still felt good about myself...

A few months ago I went and bought a Bosch, thinking this was my time... and it has been a great experience! I'm not saying that one needs a Bosch to make bread, but for us that aren't much into baking bread - it is wonderful! I need to say that again - it is wonderful!

I recently purchased a bunch of whole wheat for our food storage. The kind lady that placed my order from our ward decided to have a bread making class for those who purchased the wheat. Now, I have been to many many bread making classes over the years. But with Rachel, something clicked... it was my time! She herself, having four young girls (about the same age as my boys) gave me the motivation to get on with this bread making business.

I haven't boughten a loaf of bread from Costco or any vendor for the past 2 months! Using part of Mom Thomas' recipe along with Shari Goodman... tips from Shanna Jensen... I am sold!

OOohhh! Can I have your recipe/ tips? I've been looking for a recipe I like for a while. I need to do it more often so I can figure the tricks out, but I never get to it. We love homemade, though, so it never lasts longer than 2 days. That would probably change if I made it more :) And, I LOVE my Bosch (Christmas last year)!!! I use it to make Pizza a lot! LOVE IT!

We are currently trying to crack the high altitude secret to bread. Mom's recipe still tastes great, but we can't stop the bread from dropping. Tips anyone?

Someone is making a killing off all the bread that goes towards sandwiches.

But...where do you find the time?

April, use less leavening. like 3/4 of the yeast that the recipe calls for.

Way to go, Cindy! Not only is homemade bread much yummier, it is also free of those nasty preservatives and high fructose corn syrup. I'm so proud of you!!

Welcome to the club! I have to disagreed... you MUST have a Bosch if you want to make good bread and lots of it. :) I can't live without mine.
